New Management for 05 Motorsport

After several enjoyable years of steering the 05M ship to multiple Team & Driver Championships team founder & owner Steve Davis has now decided to step aside from the controls for the foreseeable future & in doing so has contracted & employed the highly regarded Sim Racing consultancy company “Team TAG” to take over managerial duties here at 05 Motorsport.

Team TAG is the highly skilled management duo of Tim Brook & George Talbot who, along with their love of the hobby have proven invaluable to the operation of the team over these past 5 years.

Davis explained at a recent team function that although he will be now taking a backseat role in the ongoing operations of the team he will still, from time to time,be engaging in the occasional one off event to continue his support of the 05 Motorsport name.

RDLMS - 05M Win GT2 Championship

This past weekend saw 05 Motorsport claim the coveted GT2 class crown in this seasons RaceDepartments Le Mans Endurance Championship.

Competing in the final round of the Championship held at the classic Le Mans circuit the team successfully lead the 12 Hour event from flag to flag…..a brilliant display of speed, racecraft, concentration & reliability.

With qualifying & first stint duties entrusted to driver Wilfred van den Brink the 05M Porsche 997 RSR soon found itself with a sizeable gap back to second place.Following on from Wilfreds brilliant run 05M regular & recent iRacing convert Kieron Peace took the wheel to put in a solid & consistent 140 minute stint before handing the reins to RDLMS admin & 05M pilot George Talbot.Although encountering a few incidents during the Englishmans run the car was handed to driver Kevin Brents still holding a comfortable lead in class. With some solid running from Kevin the Porsche then found itself back in the hands of van den Brink for the final run to the finish line to claim both the race win & Series Championship.

After five grueling rounds of the series 05M drivers Wilfred van den Brink,Kevin Brents,Renato Dornelles,George Talbot & Kieron Peace successfully combined to form a formidable team that was to eventually clinch the title by winning a staggering five from five races.

Competing against some very stiff competition this season this GT2 Championship comes as a testament to not only the teams natural talents & abilities but also to their willingness to work as a group to refine both the cars setup & potential race strategies.

Congratulations guys…..a Championship well deserved.
